JASON ANDY KAMYAR
Avenue in Oceania is Jason, Andy and Kamyar.
The music
is a combination of Andy's powerful synth textures and
Kamyar's colorful guitar work and song
arrangements, this
provides the foundation for Jason's insightful lyrics.
What does the world look like when you remove the shiny,
fake veneer of slick advertising and propaganda? We attempt
to explore our present world, where the niceties and illusions
are stripped away, and things
are seen as they are.
For many, many years, people have been hiding from the
reality of things through addiction to television, religion, and
general
escapism of all kinds. Avenue in Oceania is an
attempt to face the dark, hidden
things that people pass by
and ignore every day. We present a portrayal of how
things
are if looked at honestly and without a retreat into
pretty,
sentimental lenses to disguise and soften the state
of things. It is a cry in the darkness...
It is an attempt to recognize and re-create a world
in
which an honest recognition of truth could be met with
change instead of cynicism. It is a project for a hopeful future
that can only be achieved by recognizing
how illusory
our comforts are…
We are not, like many others, looking to exploit and
highlight the failures and misery found in the world today.
There are many who
express angst and anger about the
world around them. Our goal is to musically
present ideas
that might make one think, or move, or sing to the rhythms
of the
world we live in, and discover where those things
that have not been looked at
closely due to innumerable
distractions, can be viewed in a different way.
Revolutionary
thought does not require militant action. It can, however,
lead
to a genesis of new operational paradigms that can
lead to great change. We are
committed advocates of truth.
It is not a slick promotional gimmick.
Our music is the medium by which we present that.
It is
accomplished through melodic textures and direct, biting,
and sometimes witty
words. We present this project as
our musical treatise…A handbill of sounds and
sights that
are for all to rise above, not for our own aggrandizement…
It is why
we do what we do.
