ANDY FRAZIER

My first influences in synth based music were back the late seventies,
mainly in the form of synthlines from old disco songs on the radio
and the roller rink, I wasn’t such a fan of the music but a fan of
some of the old synthlines mostly from the moog synths in heavy
use back then. Later I heard much better use of synthesizers starting
with Gary Numan; not only the song cars but the rest of his albums
at the time. Later I was more influenced by synth bands like
Depeche Mode, Omd, Caberet Voltair and many others through
the mid eighties.
When I was 13, I bought a Roland sh101 followed by the arp
odyssey and a dr boss drum machine and tons of old junk followed.
At this point I knew how to play a little and went to take some piano
lessons but didn’t stick with it as found I was more into synth based
noise making rather than the classics. I later tried guitar but wasn’t
happy with my ability so I gave that up as well. Later in the eighties,
I met a girl named JJ at my high school who wanted to sing so we
did a project called Noire for about a year. It was influenced more
by Yazoo and Allison Moyet than anything else.
After Noire I started making music with my friend Larry M.
We collaborated for years under the name Konsume A Human.
We produced a CD called Dead Skin and performed several
parties at the time to no real success.
I later met up with Kamyar at a 2004 Skinny Puppy concert,
we began to collaborate later that year and the rest is what we
are doing now.
My personal influences range quite a bit from synthpop to industrial
and everything in between.
